Maria Shaidrova joined the Café Kyiv conference in Berlin as a panelist in the session “𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐠𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞.”

On January 30, OPORA Foundation’s CEO Maria Shaidrova participated in the 2nd Coordination Meeting of the Skills Alliance for Ukraine, held in Kyiv. An important aspect of the event was the showcase of successful and innovative initiatives, including OPORA Foundation’s Empatia Program.

Last week, our Empatia Program held its largest event so far, dedicated to Ukrainian psychologists. Over 100 professionals attended, forming a strong network of support.

Olga has been a key part of OPORA from the start, helping it grow and succeed.

Our data shows a worrying increase in psychological help requests, with 988 requests registered from April to December 2023, rising to 1,189 requests from January to September 2024.⁣⁣

Our colleagues, Anna-Mariia Sukhar and Yeva Kardash, presented the Empatia program’s work of expanding mental health services for displaced Ukrainians, which led to constructive discussions and valuable feedback.

The Empatia Program actively participated in discussions on restoring mental health during war. Marina Rozhniatovska, advisor on the mental health of children and teenagers in Empatia, shared her expertise on this critical issue
