Everything we do
is evidence-based
We founded OPORA Foundation in 2022 in response to the arrival of displaced people from Ukraine in the Netherlands. We use an evidence-based approach to tackling the long-term challenges displaced individuals face. We design programs that aim to improve the lives of migrants and create solutions rooted in real needs, identified through rigorous research.

our ongoing research
Understanding the Return Journey
While research on return migration is extensive, there’s still a gap in understanding the experiences of Ukrainians returning home amid an active, full-scale war. Exploring the psychological well-being of returnees is essential for their long-term reintegration and for rebuilding Ukraine’s society and economy.
In partnership with Upinion we conduct research to better understand the real-time experiences of Ukrainians who left the country due to the invasion and have since returned. If this is your story — or someone you know — we invite you to share this experience anonymously.
Your participation is fully confidential, collected through a secure chat. Your input can help shape policies and support for those still planning their return.
We also encourage NGOs, initiatives, and communities working with displaced Ukrainians to share this survey within their networks.
