How can we make the internet safer for young people affected by war and displacement?
E-mpowerYouth is a two-year project co-financed by the European Union that aims to strengthen digital safety and emotional well-being among Ukrainian internally and externally displaced youth (IDY) aged 12–18 across Ukraine, Poland, and the Netherlands.
The project was developed as a response to emerging threats faced by youth affected by conflict and displacement, particularly in the online space. E-mpowerYouth aims to ensure that these young people have the information and support they need to stay safe online.
Implemented by International Child Development Initiatives (ICDI), Labor and Health Social Initiatives (LHSI), Pro-fil, OPORA and NGO Girls, the project provides hands-on materials, training, and interactive activities to promote digital resilience, prevent online gender-based violence (GBV), and support emotional well-being.
Project Objectives
Digital security
Media literacy
Psychosocial support
Training youth, parents, and caregivers on how to stay safe online and avoid digital harm, particularly gender-based abuse.
Equipping young people with critical thinking skills, the ability to recognize abusive content, and to make informed decisions online.
Providing access to psychological
or other forms of support when needed.

To ensure the project's outreach is inclusive and equitable, special emphasis will be placed on vulnerable groups, including girls and LGBTIQ+ youth.
