Why did we create this program?⁣

Since early 2022, Ukrainian displaced people have faced numerous challenges as they try to rebuild their lives in the Netherlands. In our research we have identified how local Ukrainian communities and initiatives have played vital roles in supporting them. However, these grassroots efforts, while crucial, often encounter significant obstacles.⁣

What is our innovative solution?

To address these challenges OPORA is launching Civil Society Hubs designed to support community-based initiatives led by Ukrainians. They will serve as platforms for cooperation, knowledge-sharing, and training, all aimed at fostering integration and building stronger connections between Dutch and Ukrainian communities.

The Civil Society HUB is a long-term program running from October 2024 to May 2025. This initiative is designed for two-way participation, featuring seminars complemented by practical assignments. OpenEmbassy is partnering with us in an advisory capacity, providing valuable insights and guidance to enhance the effectiveness of our project.

Who Can Apply?⁣

If you are part of a Ukrainian community-based initiative focused on fostering integration and cooperation between Dutch and Ukrainian communities, this project is for you! ⁣

Our program will offer: ⁣

1. Capacity building activities: practical training sessions, workshops and expert pools on topics of: ⁣
   🧭 Strategic Planning⁣
   ⚖️ Legal and Financial Operations in the Netherlands⁣
   📣 Communication and External Relations⁣
   👥 Team and Human Resources Management⁣

2. Mentorship program - includes 1:1 consultations with external experts addressing specific needs of your organization. ⁣

3. Volunteers psychological support program: mental-support session for the leaders and team members of the initiatives. ⁣

4. Networking activities: events with relevant stakeholders and partners.⁣
