At OPORA Foundation, providing quality and effective assistance to temporarily protected persons in the Netherlands is our top priority. One of the most impactful ways we achieve this is through meaningful collaborations that help our team grow and make a positive difference in people's lives.
We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Pro Bono Connect, a project of the Nederlands Juristen Comité voor de Mensenrechten (NJCM). This collaboration allows our Legal Advice Team to receive expert guidance from top Dutch law firms such as Bird & Bird, Dentons, EY Belastingadviseurs, and HVG Law.
Thanks to this invaluable support, our lawyers gain deep insights into Dutch jurisprudence and its complexities, enhancing their ability to assist a greater number of individuals. Some of the specific areas these consultations cover include:
🔹 Research
🔹 Deciding whether to transfer cases to specialized lawyers or initiate court procedures
🔹 Managing complex cases requiring multiple expertises
🔹 Drafting application templates
🔹 Conducting training sessions for our legal team
🔹 Participating in live stream webinars for displaced Ukrainians
We are proud to share our impressive results:
📈Legal cases in 2023: 1200+
📈From January to March 2024: 650+ appeals resolved
📈Calls via helpline (December 2023 - now): 87
📈Requests via Instagram (December 2023 - now): 63
Thank you to our pro bono partners for empowering us to grow professionally and help more people in need. Together, we are making a tangible difference! 💪❤️
