Through our partnership with Pro Bono Connect, our Ukrainian Legal Advice team is receiving essential support and training from leading Dutch law firms, including Bird & Bird, Dentons, EY Belastingadviseurs, and HVG Law. With their expertise, our team has organized six legal events across the Netherlands and successfully resolved over 2,000 requests for displaced Ukrainians through our legal help desk.
Just last week in Almere, our dedicated Legal Advice team, led by coordinator Yevheniia Soloviova and volunteer legal advisor Adele Riabova, conducted an insightful session on Dutch labor law. They explained various employment agreements, the resignation process, and critically addressed labor exploitation, providing practical guidance on how to prevent such abuses. The session ended with a lively Q&A, where real-world scenarios were discussed.
In addition to our direct support, we are actively tracking our progress to ensure continuous improvement. Our team is compiling data and insights to make informed policy recommendations that could further enhance legal protections for displaced people. This cross-cultural collaboration between Dutch law firms and Ukrainian lawyers is not only expanding access to justice but also setting a model for others to provide crucial legal support to vulnerable communities.
